Directions
Traveling from Tampa is a lovely, scenic drive, making it a great way to start your vacation. On this drive, you will pass by the Skyway Bridge, which is a fantastic local attraction. To get to Anna Maria Island from the airport, you will follow signs from the airport toward I-275 South. You will follow this road toward Saint Petersburg and toward the Howard Franklin Bridge. Once you have passed the Skyway Bridge, you will follow signs for Route 19 South toward Bradenton/Palmetto. You will continue on this path until you pass over the Manatee River Bridge. From there, you will take a right at Manatee Avenue and follow that straight until it takes you to the island.
Leaving from Sarasota Airport? Not a problem. Take the US-41 exit from the airport towards University Parkway. You will then take the next right onto the Tamiami Trail. Then, take a left on the 53rd trail to the intersection at Cortez Road until the road becomes 75th street. Once you are there, proceed to the intersection of Manatee Avenue and turn right. Once you have crossed over the causeway, you have reached the island.
To get to Anna Maria Island from the Orlando airport, make your way onto FL-417 Toll S. Follow the road through the toll booths and head toward I-4 W, which you’ll take for about 50 miles. You’ll then merge onto I-75 S toward Naples for an additional 33 miles. Take exit 228 for I-275 N toward St. Petersburg, then follow exit 2 to US-41 S / S Tamiami Trail. From there, just turn right onto FL-64 W, follow for 9 miles, and you’ve made it to AMI!
